A flake floor is a coating system where colored acrylic vinyl chips are broadcast into a wet base coat, then sealed under a clear topcoat. The flakes give the floor its texture, color and a speckled, granite-like look that hides dust, tire marks and small imperfections.
It's the most popular floor we install in Austin. Our full-flake floors use a 99% solids polyurea base coat, a full flake broadcast and an 85% solids polyaspartic clear coat. That system cures fast, so most garages are done in one day.
Hides dirt and wear. The speckled pattern hides dust, tire marks and small chips far better than a solid color.
Slip resistant. The broadcast creates a textured surface with grip, even when the floor is wet.
Stain and chemical resistant. Oil, gas, antifreeze and spills wipe up instead of soaking into the concrete.
UV-stable finish. The polyaspartic clear coat resists yellowing in the sun near garage doors and on patios.
Fast install. Most residential flake floors are installed in a single day.
Limited lifetime warranty. Our Essential, Signature and Premier full-flake floors are covered against delamination, peeling and chipping.
Quartz floors use hard, crushed quartz granules broadcast into the coating and sealed with a thick, high-performance topcoat. Quartz is far harder and more abrasion-resistant than vinyl flake, and its coarse texture delivers serious traction — even when the floor is wet.
Flake floors Vinyl flake floors are the go-to choice for garages, workshops, porches and patios. They come in a wide range of color blends and give you a clean, finished look at the best price.
Quartz floors A quartz floor uses colored quartz granules broadcast into the coating instead of vinyl chips. Quartz builds a harder, more textured surface, which makes it a strong choice for commercial kitchens, wet areas and spaces that see heavy foot traffic.
Not sure which one fits? We'll look at how you use the space and recommend the system that makes sense, not the most expensive one.
Full broadcast. Flakes cover the entire base coat for maximum texture, color and durability. This is our standard for garages.
Partial broadcast. A lighter scattering of flakes over a solid base color for a cleaner, more minimal look.
Standard colors. Essential includes select standard flake blends, and Signature includes our full standard selection.
Premium and custom blends. Premier adds premium and custom flake blends for a floor that's truly yours.
Moisture vapor barriers. If your slab shows moisture, we can add a moisture-mitigation layer before coating.
Low-odor sealers. Ask us about low-odor options for interior and attached-garage projects.
Flake is the more affordable system; quartz costs more because it uses more material and additional coats. Your price depends on:
Residential garages and workshops
Patios, front porches and pool decks
Commercial kitchens
Showrooms and retail spaces
Warehouses and shop floors

We grind the concrete with diamond tooling and dustless equipment to profile the surface and keep dust out of your home.

We fill cracks, pits and chips, then grind again for a smooth, even base.

We apply a 99% solids polyurea base coat that bites into the ground concrete and bonds tightly to the slab.

We broadcast your chosen flake color into the base for texture, slip resistance, and a custom look.

Once cured, we scrape the floor in every direction, vacuum, and reclaim excess flake for a clean, even surface.

We finish with an 85% solids, UV-stable polyaspartic clear coat for a durable, showroom-quality finish.
Full-flake garage floors start at $1,745 for a one-car garage and $2,345 for a two-car garage with our Essential package. Signature starts at $1,890 / $2,595, and Premier starts at $2,195 / $2,995. Depending on the size and condition of your floor, your final price may come in lower than the listed price.
Patios, porches, commercial spaces and quartz floors are priced by square footage after a free on-site estimate.

Both are broadcast systems, but flake uses decorative vinyl chips for looks and customization, while quartz uses hard crushed quartz granules for maximum durability and slip resistance. Flake is the more decorative choice; quartz is the heavy-duty, high-traction choice.
